THE CROUCH BOWLING CLUB is a private members club managed by a Committee elected from the membership at each Annual General Meeting. Its objective is to provide members with facilities for bowling in accordance with the rules of the English Bowling Association and the Sussex County Bowling Association.
The Club is small and very friendly with its own Constitution and Rules. New members are most welcome - qualified coaching and instruction is provided on request.
SEAFORD TOWN COUNCIL own and maintain the Bowling Green and lease the Pavilion to THE CROUCH BOWLING CLUB. The Council sets the Bowling fees each year and members of the Club pay an Annual Season Ticket fee covering all play from 1st May to 30th September. Fees for the year 2005 are set out on the Fees page.
THE CLUB IS AFFILIATED to both the Men's and Women's National and County Bowling Associations, enabling players to enter County Competitions and possibly become County Players eligible for selection to play for Sussex.
COMPETITION AND MATCHES. The Crouch Bowling Club is a Mixed Club and provides equally for ladies and gentlemen. There are some 70 matches on our fixture list, including several club drives and visiting teams on tour
This year is our club's 70th anniversary and to celebrate there will be four additional matches.
Crouch Men versus Sussex County, Sussex Vice Presidents and Francis Drake Benevolent.
Crouch Ladies versus Sussex County Executive. The club also plays in the Meridian League at Newhaven.
Evening League. Both these leagues are mixed and involve several local clubs. This year we have introduced a ladies' Friday evening Triples League with seven local clubs.
There are in-house competitions - ladies, gents and mixed and a men's league on Friday mornings and a ladies' aggregate on Saturday mornings.
In fact, something for everyone, so why not come along and see what we have to offer.
SOCIAL AND FUN EVENTS. The Social Committee arranges several excellent events during the year. There is a Ladies verses Gents Match and several drives are organised.
If you are moving to the Seaford area and looking for a new club, please contact us so that we can arrange a visit.
