Working Together

Chyngton Farm

The farmland in the area is owned by the National Trust, Seaford Town Council and East Sussex County Council, and it is managed by a tenant farmer.  We work together with them to provide wildlife 'corridors' linking different habitats. Well managed arable farmland can have an extremely high conservation value. The farmer works within an agri-environment scheme and has won a number of awards for his contributions to good farming practice.

The Golf Links

With good management many golf courses can be havens for wildlife, and Seaford Head is no exception. Part of the golf links falls within the Nature Reserve and SSSI, another section is a Site of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCI). We work closely with the greenkeepers to preserve this conservation site, where Pyramidal orchids and many other interesting plants and animals can be seen.

Seaford Town Council

are the landowners of most of the Nature Reserve. Work on the Reserve is funded through filming fees and grants. Production companies come for miles to film the unspoilt views. Look out for the Local Nature Reserve in adverts, documentaries and films such as 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves' and 'Harry Potter'.
