Seaford in Bloom

Open Gardens 2005

The Seaford in Bloom Open Gardens Day held on 17th July was a great success. The fine weather ensured an increase in the number of visitors from last year, and the amount raised, including cream teas and plant sales, was an amazing £1500 which will go towards the floral displays in Seaford town. This is the most money ever raised at a single event for Seaford in Bloom, even surpassing Open Gardens Day 2004.

Chairman Isabel Stephenson would like to thank the hundreds of people who turned out to support SIB and the nine kind people who volunteered to open their gardens. I took some photographs on the day and am attaching two pictures from each of the nine gardens.

The Seaford in Bloom Floral Competition judging took place on Tuesday 19th July and the Shop Window Display competition judging (theme this year "A Celebration") was on Thursday 21st July. The results from all categories will be announced at the SIB Awards ceremony at Annecy school hall on Friday August 19th. Entrance to this event is by invitation only, and ALL the people who entered the competitions have been invited.
