The Seaford in Bloom Open Gardens Day,
which took place on Sunday 13th July and was sponsored
by Rowland Gorringe Estate Agents, raised an amazing
£2,400 from ticket sales, sponsorship, cream teas and
plant sales.
The recent inclement weather relented for
the day and nearly 400 SIB supporters turned out in
force to view the seven lovely gardens on show.
This is the most money ever raised at a
single event for Seaford in Bloom, even surpassing Open
Gardens Day 2005.
The generosity of the sponsors, the
kindness of those who opened their gardens and the
enthusiastic support of everyone who visited, is greatly
appreciated by the SIB Committee as it makes all their
hard work worthwhile. New venues are always being
sought to include in this annual event and anyone who is
interested in opening their garden in 2009 should
contact SIB Chairman Isabel Stephenson.
All the money raised goes towards the
floral displays in town, which this year, despite the
recent strong winds and bad weather, many people have
commented are better than ever." |
