REVISED SHEDULE FOR SEAFORD IN BLOOM
APRIL 2006

Due to the current local water shortage with resulting restrictions and following a great deal of thought and much heart searching, my Seaford in Bloom Committee decided it is necessary to revise our plans for 2006.

The Seaford in Bloom Committee are responsible for the supply and planting of all hanging baskets, tubs and containers which can be seen in the streets of Seaford, these we finance by our events which take place during the year. Lewes Council have in the past years funded the watering of these containers but for 2006 this funding has been withdrawn. It was decided to proceed with the floral displays in the town this year as the plants had been ordered and paid for and Seaford in Bloom decided that for this year the committee would cover the cost of the watering from contingency funds of the committee. Should there be a further crisis with water supplies or funds run out further action will have to be taken.

We shall be replacing the planned Spring Market on May 20th at St Leonard's Church Hall with a Coffee Morning where we will still be selling plants, cakes and bric a brac.

Sadly our Open Gardens Day will not be possible this year but we shall have a Garden Party on July 16th at 1 The Barn House, Firle Road. We will be serving Ploughmans Lunches from 12 noon until 2pm and Cream Teas from 2pm until 5pm. Other attractions will be laid on.

Our Seaford in Bloom Competition will also be cancelled for this year for obvious reasons, I do hope you understand and appreciate our position.

We will be back in 2007 and in the meantime I hope you will continue supporting the fund raising events organised for this year.
