Why Recycle Aluminium?

Aluminium cans can be recycled time and time again.
Up to 95% less energy is used every time a used can is recycled into a new can, compared to producing a brand new one. Recycling 1kg of aluminium saves 8kg of bauxite, 4kg of chemicals and 14 kwh of electricity.
A recycled aluminium can saves enough energy to run a television for three hours.
If all the aluminium drink cans sold in the UK were recycled, we would need 14million fewer dustbins for our waste Recycling aluminium uses only 5% of the power needed to make aluminium from raw materials. In other words, 20 cans made from recycled aluminium use the same amount of energy as just one can made from new aluminium.
