Possible Cost Saving
If you can reduce the bulk of your waste, Lewes District Council will reduce the size of your bill for refuse collection appropriately. By paying the glass, paper and cardboard collectors you are merely re-directing the money from LDC to the private sector.
It does not have to cost you more, to recycle your glass and cardboard, especially if you ensure that everything recyclable goes into the bins or cages and that you squash the remaining refuse where possible.
