SEAFORD [The Trefoil Guild]

In June, fifteen Guild members packed into a minibus for a very pleasant drive through the Sussex countryside to Raystede Animal Sanctuary where we had a very relaxing afternoon wandering around the extensive site to view the various animals which this charity houses while trying to find new homes for them.

In July, Seahaven Guild were very pleased to welcome 29 members from other Guilds in the County to hear a representative from Sussex Air Ambulance speak about the work of this marvellous service. I think we were all surprised to discover it is a Charity, being under the impression it was Government funded. We watched slides showing the helicopter and its equipment and heard of the wonderful work of rescue that the doctors and medics do. The afternoon finished with a time of chat, tea and delicious homemade cakes. We were able to present to the Charity a cheque for £100 made up from the raffle and donations.

Our next meeting is a garden party, so we are hoping for a continuation of the dry weather. We shall be meeting on Tuesday afternoon, 10th August at 2.30pm.
